The Telematic III is completely digital, utilizing microchip technology.  It has no moving parts and is easily maintained.   It has terrific fidelity and includes a 3 year warranty.

The story tape ("information") is easily loaded onto the chip from an outside source (a Sony Walkman or the like).   The cassette story tapes used with the previous generation may be used with the Telematic III.
